Chief Michael Strickland serves as the Chief of Police for the Port St. Lucie & Fort Pierce Police Department, bringing more than 20 years of dedicated law enforcement experience to the role. Chief Strickland began their career in 2000 and has advanced through the ranks, holding key leadership positions in patrol/investigations/administration & special operations.

Throughout their career, Chief Strickland has demonstrated a strong commitment to community-oriented policing, organizational accountability, and professional excellence. They have led initiatives focused on crime reduction, officer development, and strengthening partnerships with community members, local organizations, and other public safety agencies.

Chief Strickland is a graduate of University of Texas and has completed advanced training in leadership, command staff, executive management, crisis response, etc. They are an active member of professional law enforcement associations and continue to emphasize innovation, transparency, and trust as cornerstones of effective policing.
